We need more trees.

The housing market in the U.S. is in bad shape but developers continue to build new houses. There are tons of abandoned, foreclosed and house that have been on the market for a few years. Why do we need to cut down more trees or take over farms to build housing developments that most people cannot afford? Are we trying to get back at the Native Americans? "Ha ha, we are destroying more of the land we robbed from you!" If the developers want to keep working during the recession they should fix up the existing houses or demolish them and build new ones on the existing lot. They can even plant trees or make new parks. Anything but build more houses! We need more trees and less houses.

ulta!

Hello!

I recently had my hair cut and the hairstylist used spray mousse. My hair was so volumized that the morning after my hair looked the same as it did when she first styled my hair. BigSexyHair spray mousse is wonderful! Their hairspray is great too. My one problem with them is that I do not know if it is tested on animals or not. I checked www.caringconsumer.com but I did not see it in either lists. Anyways, I bought the spray mousse and hairspray in a value pack at Ulta. Also, at Ulta they have buy 2 get the 3rd free on NYX jumbo pencils! Exciting!

Talk to you later,
Britty

Romantic Walk on the Beach

The other day I took a classmate to one of the nastiest beaches to show her why soil and water conservation is so important. On just a small strip of beach, we found 87 plastic bottles, 7 used tampon applicators, and 2 dirty diapers. That was just on the shoreline, we did not go back towards the trees. Some of these items were left behind by some careless person but what people do not realize is that some were washed up on shore. People dispose of things done the storm drains and it goes straight to the lake. People who do not clean up their animal's droppings are partialing to blame for the bacteria problems in the lake. These droppings are left on the grass and washed in to the storm drains when it rains.

Here are just a few things we all can do to
conserve our water and soil:

1. plant native plants

2. build a rain barrel

3. do not litter

4. clean up after pets

5. do not dispose of thing in storm drains

Have great day at a clean and safe beach,

Britty

Changes, changes, changes

Hello Everyone!

I first want to say thank you for reading my blog. This is my first blog! Exciting :). Second, I am receiving my BA in two weeks. Can you believe? I cannot, I am scared and excited at the same time because now I have produce artwork that is not an assignment. At least I can be bizarre on my own without someone steering me into a different direction. Current focus: advocacy, animal ethics, drug culture in America (btw I am not on drugs I just find it interesting.. I do have a minor in psychology).

Talk to you soon and have a great day!
